Position Summary: We are in need of a MongoDB and PostgreSQL Solutions Engineer to deliver expert advice and tailored recommendations to our clients from a remote setting. This position involves engaging in consulting discussions, assessing client needs, and providing customized solutions and best practices concerning MongoDB and PostgreSQL implementations and enhancements. The ideal candidate will have a robust technical foundation in both MongoDB and PostgreSQL, the capability to analyze code, and excellent written communication skills to produce detailed consulting reports.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient technical knowledge in MongoDB and PostgreSQL, with the ability to advise on best practices and enhancements.
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting code to offer suggestions for performance improvements.
  • Exceptional written communication skills to clearly present recommendations and findings in consulting reports.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and database management concepts, although the role does not entail direct DBA or DevOps responsibilities.
  • Ability to work remotely and effectively collaborate with clients and internal teams.
  • Self-driven with a proactive approach to problem-solving and ensuring client satisfaction.

PostgreSQL Administration Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in PostgreSQL administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance in production settings, with a focus on performance tuning and optimization.
  • Expertise in database backup and recovery strategies, security implementation, high availability solutions, and automation scripting.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and maintain thorough documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in remote consulting sessions with MongoDB and PostgreSQL clients to comprehend their requirements and challenges.
  • Evaluate client codebases and configurations to pinpoint areas for enhancement and optimization.
  • Deliver expert recommendations and best practices tailored to each client's objectives for both MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
  • Document insights and recommendations in comprehensive consulting reports for client reference.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to share knowledge and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.

Success Metrics: The MongoDB and PostgreSQL Solutions Engineer will be deemed successful when:

  • Clients receive valuable insights and recommendations that lead to enhanced MongoDB and PostgreSQL implementations and performance.
  • Consulting reports are thorough, clear, and effectively communicate recommendations to clients.
  • Positive feedback is received from clients regarding the quality and impact of the consulting sessions and recommendations.

Remote Work: This position is fully remote.
