Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator is a key member of our warehouse team, responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials to and from storage areas using a forklift. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are looking for a challenging and rewarding career.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a forklift in a safe and productive manner, completing daily inspections and removing the lift from service if a defect is detected.
- Ship and receive product damage-free and accurately, completing Quality Reassurance Checks.
- Monitor the warehouse floor for safety concerns or infractions and take appropriate action.
- Complete all documents and paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Fill customer orders accurately and follow special instructions.
- Work closely with office staff to resolve discrepancies and issues.
- Ensure the warehouse is organized, clean, and free of damage, with pallets stored in bins.
- Promote teamwork and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures, GMPs, and maintain sanitary conditions.
- Report any conditions or practices that may affect food safety, quality, or personnel safety.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck training program and forklift certification.
- Effective reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze situations and make decisions that benefit the company without compromising employee well-being.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum six months of experience in a palletized warehouse environment.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Certification is preferred but not required at the time of hire.
