Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Market Sector Leader to join our Water Business Group in Boise. As a key member of our team, you'll provide leadership and guidance for HDR's Wastewater projects, collaborating with clients and project managers to develop and deliver projects that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Wastewater projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Develop and grow business development relationships with clients, identifying new opportunities and partnerships.
  • Supervise and mentor Wastewater section staff, providing guidance and support to help them grow professionally.
  • Manage project finances, coordinating staffing and resources to ensure projects are completed within agreed-upon parameters.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, engineers in training, and CAD/GIS professionals to execute planning-level projects, including reports and technical documents.
  • Work closely with other design disciplines to provide integrated solutions and support business development opportunities.
  • Perform QA/QC of internal and external deliverables, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Identify staff training needs and provide training as needed, helping to develop their professional abilities.
  • Mentor staff and help them develop their skills and expertise.
  • Provide technical knowledge and support to the section, including engineering standards, Idaho regulations, best practices, and project management tools.
  • Develop and review scope and fee proposals, ensuring they meet client needs and expectations.
  • Recruit and retain project managers, project engineers, engineers in training, and CAD/GIS professionals, building a strong and talented team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or related) required.
  • Idaho PE, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in working on Water/Wastewater projects.
  • Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
  • Proven ability to lead technical efforts and collaborate with clients to develop new projects.
  • Strong oral, written communication, and listening skills, including good leadership and organization skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to complete tasks.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
