Position Summary:

The selected candidate will be instrumental in executing systems engineering methodologies, procedures, and best practices. This role requires providing engineering expertise across various domains, including development, assessment, training, and configuration management, in support of acquisition initiatives. The focus will be on specialized engineering support for transport and networking architectures, emphasizing current and future tactical network capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement systems engineering methodologies and best practices to facilitate various acquisition program activities.
  • Deliver engineering expertise in development, assessment, training, and configuration management.
  • Provide specialized engineering support focused on transport and networking architectures related to tactical network capabilities.
  • Conduct design reviews and perform thorough technical evaluations and assessments of network performance and architectures, including risk assessments and integration strategies.
  • Assist in Capability Set (CS) and Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) initiatives.
  • Offer technical support for the evaluation and integration of new technologies aimed at modernizing communications.
  • Collaborate effectively with various organizations, ensuring alignment on interoperability considerations.
  • Analyze acquisition documentation for Army tactical communications systems.
  • Translate requirements into technical solutions that are standards-compliant and cost-effective.
  • Review performance work statements and contractor proposals for technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, testing, or a related discipline.
  • Possession of a Secret Security Clearance.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in tactical network systems engineering.
  • Expertise in systems engineering with a focus on network engineering.
  • Experience in designing and implementing LANs or VLANs.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols, multicast, routing configurations, and IPv4/IPv6 addressing.
  • Proficiency in network protocol analysis using tools such as Sniffer or Wireshark.
  • Familiarity with VMware and commercial communications equipment.
  • Understanding of transport and network architectures.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end network design and performance.
  • Ability to maintain required licenses and/or credentials.
  • Proficient in English communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team or independently, adapting to changing job requirements.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Detail-oriented, highly motivated, and organized.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to access government worksites and adhere to safety practices.
  • Willingness to work under varying weather conditions and extended hours as necessary.
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Successful completion of a drug/alcohol test and a criminal background check.
