A Design Engineer applies civil and/or architectural design knowledge, skill, and ability to create construction drawings for the project owner and provides continuous professional support throughout the entire construction process.
This role works under the close supervision of Principals and Project Managers and responsibilities grow with experience, one step at a time.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare calculations using engineering skills and related computer applications.
- Design portions of large projects, or responsible for the design of smaller projects.
- Develop basic construction detailing for BIM and CAD implementation.
- Review and edit project specifications.
- Assist in the field with structural assessments and Investigations.
- Assist the Project Engineer with Construction Administration services including shop drawing review, responding to construction issues, and site observations.
- Interact with clients, enforcement agencies, vendors, and other project consultants.
- Respond to comments by building departments or other enforcement agencies.
A BS in Architectural Engineering in Civil or Architectural Engineering (Structural emphasis) from an accredited university, as well as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate.
Professional experience preferred but not required.
Excellent communication skills.
Travel RequirementsTravel is anticipated between 0-10%.
Estimated Starting Salary Range$75,000.00 to $110,000.00
