Job Title: Occupational Therapist

LHC Group is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for assessing and evaluating patient care needs related to functional status, activities of daily living, fine motor coordination, home assessments, and adaptive equipment. The successful candidate will develop and implement treatment plans to improve and enhance patient well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws, using evidence-based techniques, and in coordination with other healthcare team members.
  • Evaluate patient functional status, occupational therapy needs, and consult with physicians to develop therapy plans of care.
  • Record and report patient progress to nurse supervisors and physicians.
  • Inform and instruct patients, family members, and healthcare team members about therapy plans, functional limitations, and progress.
  • Visit patients within the service area and other nearby LHC agencies as needed.
  • Complete progress notes and submit them according to LHC policy.
  • Participate in staff conferences and committees as requested.
  • Supervise home health aides and occupational therapy assistants as per LHC policy and state regulations.
Requirements
  • Current Occupational Therapy licensure in New Jersey.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
