Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Strategic Communications to join our team at CoSIDA. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communications Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic communications plan that enhances the organization's reputation, builds relationships with key stakeholders, and promotes the organization's mission and goals.
  • Media Relations: Manage media relations, including establishing and maintaining relationships with key media contacts, pitching stories and securing media coverage, and responding to media inquiries.
  • Content Creation: Develop and disseminate high-quality content, including press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials, to promote the organization's mission and goals.
  • Brand Management: Develop and implement a brand management strategy that ensures consistency and accuracy in the organization's messaging and visual identity.
  • Team Management: Supervise and manage a team of communications professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure the team's success.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience at a college or university level preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to develop and disseminate high-quality content. Strong media relations skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with key media contacts. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
