Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

A prominent player in the premium Black Angus beef sector is seeking a dedicated professional eager to leverage their accounting expertise in a dynamic setting. This role entails managing cattle payment processes, daily USDA market reporting, freight payable management, and general accounts payable tasks. The selected candidate will supervise a team and oversee accounting operations, reporting directly to the controller and executive leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee daily cash transactions and authorize transfers.
  2. Execute weekly operational expense journal entries.
  3. Prepare weekly expense versus budget reports for departmental leaders.
  4. Analyze and process credit card transaction receipts.
  5. Conduct monthly bank account and balance sheet reconciliations.
  6. Perform weekly CAPEX expenditure analysis.
  7. Manage the fixed asset subledger and all related transactions.
  8. Act as a backup for other accounting roles as needed.
  9. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:

  1. Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  2. At least five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
  3. Proven ability to maintain high accuracy levels while meeting strict deadlines.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  5. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  6. Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Word and Excel.
  7. Excellent presentation skills and ability to work collaboratively, including motivating team members.
