Job Title: Developmental Specialist

Thom Child and Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Developmental Specialist to join our team. As a Developmental Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing early intervention services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays and their families.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to work with our multidisciplinary team to assess and support the developmental needs of young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood development, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with families.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments to identify the developmental needs of infants and toddlers.
  • Provide direct child development services and activities tailored to the child's developmental level.
  • Develop and implement Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) in collaboration with families and other team members.
  • Assess family and child strengths, concerns, and progress, and provide supportive professional assistance to families.
  • Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child development and assist families in advocating for their child's needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as early childhood education, child development, or special education.
  • At least 300 hours of practicum or work experience with young children.
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, families, and community partners.
