Job Summary

Ameresco is seeking an Environmental Quality Control Manager to join our team in Concord, CA. This role is responsible for overseeing the environmental programs for a USACE/DOD contract, including conducting environmental inspections, training employees, and managing waste generating activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incident reporting, incident prevention through classroom training and worksite evaluations, new-hire orientation, and annual certifications in multiple programs.
  • Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and leads to develop pre-work assessments, identify high-risk actions, and create alternative action plans.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legislation, as well as DOD rules and regulations.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, environment and quality, and Project Manager to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Design and deliver training programs for project employees to ensure compliance, preparation, and record-keeping.
  • Conduct on-site reviews and audits of programs and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement an internal audit program to evaluate audit findings and results.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to complete Corrective and Preventive Action Reports (CARs and PARs) in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Perform independent analysis to determine root cause and develop plans to resolve problems.
  • Act as liaison with the Government Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and Quality Assurance Evaluators (QAEs) to resolve issues identified through Government evaluations.
  • Manage the project's training program, developing and recommending training programs to enhance operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years construction and/or environmental program management work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with monitoring and enforcing EPA and DOD regulations regarding hazardous waste management and handling.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current 30 Hour OSHA training certification
  • Valid Driver's License from state of residence, in good standing.
  • Knowledge of the OSHA 1910 General Industry Standards
  • National Certified Stormwater Construction Inspector Certificate is preferred.
  • USACE Quality Control Manager Certificate at time of hire is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the OSHA 1926 Construction Standards
  • NFPA 70e / Electrical Safety compliance knowledge
  • Mishap / accident investigation experience
  • Ability to conduct classroom training, use existing and expand upon classroom training materials.
  • Use and understand effective communication practices in an industrial training environment
