Job Title: Corporate Controller

Join the Towne Family of Companies as a Corporate Controller, responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting for both consolidated and local companies in accordance with U.S. GAAP, SEC, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounting operations, review tracking metrics, and participate in month-end/quarter-end close processes.
  • Assist companies in preparing annual budgets and consolidated budgets for corporate review, ensure forecasts are updated monthly/quarterly, and monitor and prepare monthly/quarterly variance analysis at the corporate and company level.
  • Partner with accounting/finance and business stakeholders across various teams to provide guidance on technical accounting issues.
  • Develop templates to monitor and report financial and/or key strategic initiatives results for tracking company performance.
  • Collaborate with leadership team to develop and maintain accurate dashboard information that uses data from various systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Review classification of revenue and expenses for appropriateness across local companies, provide insights, and make recommendations.
  • Review trends on the balance sheet and income statement, discuss, and address findings.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of accounting and reporting standards, including the refinement of current practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead the Vacations SOX compliance efforts and work with key stakeholders at each company to ensure accounting processes are documented and followed, risks have been identified, assessed, and documented in accordance with SOX requirements.
  • Evaluate, challenge, and maintain accounting policies and procedures, including the assessment of existing SOX process narratives for adequacy and consistency.
  • Assist companies in corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations.
  • Ensure effectiveness of internal controls around financial reporting.
  • Work across the organization to ensure compliance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in bank examinations, regulatory requests, and internal and external audits.
  • Plan, organize, and execute various leadership initiatives together with other team members, including system conversions, joint ventures, and/or acquisitions.
  • Manage, train, and supervise corporate and company team members, contribute meaningfully to their development.
  • Other duties and special projects as requested.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Master's Degree Accounting/Finance a plus.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Licensed CPA.
  • Experienced manager with excellent analytical and project management abilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal skills to work across multiple teams within the organization.
  • Experience in effectively meeting Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Strong GAAP and technical accounting skills.
  • Ability to learn and understand multiple systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
Preferred Experiences:
  • Consolidation, Joint Venture, Intercompany, and Acquisition accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Public Company/Property Management/Hospitality industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Office Connect and Excel pivot table, Analytics experience preferred.
