Orthofix is seeking a highly skilled Assembly Specialist III to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting medical devices in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble plastic and metal components into medical devices in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures.
- Perform in-process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished product.
- Utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, microscopes, and test fixtures.
- Participate in line meetings as needed.
- Work with Engineers and Technicians to resolve line issues and suggest improvements.
- Maintain Clean Room integrity by using proper attire and adherence to Clean Room environment practices and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records/documentation related to quality, work in progress, test results, labor (e.g. timecards), and special projects.
- Adhere to general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies and procedures, ISO, QSR, and FDA regulations.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2-4 years medical device assembly experience.
- Must have a high level of hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English and follow written and verbal instruction.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Prior experience training associate level Assemblers is desirable.
The incumbent will be required to use manual and automated machinery, microscopes, a computer keyboard and basic computer equipment. Incumbents will be required to wear Clean Room attire and follow Clean Room practices and regulations. May be required to lift up to 10 pounds, unaided.
