Rework Specialist

A rework specialist provides critical support to a team of engineers developing cutting-edge networking technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports engineering activities such as design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electronic boards and systems.
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written, and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform detailed rework function.
- Determines methods or actions to rework boards and/or systems.
- Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment.
- Uses test, development or diagnostic equipment including but not limited to such equipment as oscilloscopes, DMMs and specialized test apparatus.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Ability to perform high-level quality rework requiring inspection utilizing microscopes and soldering hand tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work under high stress situations.
- Ability to balance and prioritize individual work to best support engineering's needs and minimize testing downtime.
- 3-5 years professional experience as a rework technician/specialist.
- Excellent electronic assembler and re-work technician skills, including hand assembly and disassembly of SMT components.
- Extensive experience working in R&D Department.
- Excellent skills in rework of BGA or small footprint components.
- Ability to assist in Hardware Debug down to component level of prototype boards.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Able to demonstrate and understand the interpretation and creation of electronic schematics, technical drawings and flow diagrams.
- Excellent soldering/de-soldering techniques, work under microscope.
- Knowledgeable of the ECN process, implementing ECN to boards, writing ECN procedures and releasing ECN as necessary.
- Able to set up and configure a microcomputer using available operating systems and software packages.
- Experience to locate, reserve, build, buy and schedule prototype materials and test equipment requested by design engineers.
- Responsible to maintain a clean, safe, well, organized work area with adequate supplies for the engineering hardware lab.
- Assist in monitoring schedules for equipment acquisition and calibration.
- Working knowledge of whole suite of Microsoft office products as well as Windows 2000/XP professional.
Compensation
Estimated Pay Range: The estimated pay range for this position is USD $31.59/Hr - USD $42.74/Hr and is a Non-Exempt role.
