The SCIEX Field Service Engineer plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of SCIEX products at both internal and external customer locations, including key strategic accounts. This role requires independent problem-solving to address all assigned customer and technical challenges while mentoring and developing junior team members.

This position is part of the Field Technical Service team and is designed to be fully remote.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Demonstrate expertise in high-quality installation, repair, and maintenance of mass spectrometers, HPLC, and/or capillary electrophoresis instruments, with a strong grasp of SCIEX or competitive products.
  • Conduct qualification services and customer training, ensuring satisfaction at strategic accounts.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities, including logging service activities, expense reporting, and inventory management.
The essential qualifications for this role include:
  • An Associate's degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent experience (e.g., Military Certificates in electronics or avionics).
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience with LCMS is required.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environmental Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel by vehicle or airplane - approximately 20% travel, including overnight stays within the designated territory.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is essential.
  • Capability to lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, along with the physical ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend.
It would be advantageous if you also have:
  • Experience in troubleshooting and following systematic problem-solving procedures.
  • Familiarity with electrical and electromechanical technologies, adhering to all necessary safety protocols.
