Austin Powder is seeking a seasoned leader to drive the company's technical services forward. As the Director of Technical Services, you will be responsible for setting the strategy, direction, and key metrics for the technical community, ensuring the safe and responsible use of explosives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety: Develop and implement strategies to reduce instances of flyrock and misfire events, and establish safety expectations and goals for all blasting and technical services.
- Leadership: Represent the capabilities and needs of our technical services as an active member of the APC leadership team, and lead by example with a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, and respect for all employees.
- Product and Application Technical Support: Provide advanced technical guidance to employees and customers on mine planning, blast design, product selection, post-blast analysis, and blast optimization.
Requirements:
- A completed bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or relevant experience in lieu of education.
- 10+ years of experience in the service side of mining, quarry, or seismic markets.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to empower others and drive results.
