About the role: As a High Assurance TEMPEST Engineer at Top Secret Clearance Jobs, you will play a crucial part in crafting, testing, and certifying high assurance encryption products aligned with NSA TEMPEST requirements. Our team is seeking an expert who can design, develop, and test secure products that meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with hardware design engineers and mechanical engineers to create TEMPEST-compliant products.
  • Recommend circuits, participate in design reviews, and conduct tests on new TEMPEST solutions.
  • Review Schematic/CAD designs for accuracy.
  • Craft TEMPEST test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Participate in the initial Certification and Submittal phase of our TEMPEST facility and oversee certification under the TEMPEST Manufacturing and Test Services Program.
  • Perform testing in accordance with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92, CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02.
  • Collaborate with test technicians to conduct experimental (engineering) and formal (for score) TEMPEST tests.
  • Complete our production sampling TEMPEST program.
  • Liaise with NSA to achieve successful TEMPEST test results and product certification.
  • Support the EMI/EMC qualification of our products.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience in hardware design for TEMPEST secure products.
  • 3+ years' experience in TEMPEST engineering.
  • Extensive experience with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 and CNSSAM TEMPEST/01-02 specifications.
  • Familiarity with TEMPEST test equipment such as TEMPEST receivers, oscilloscopes, dynamic signal analyzers, signal generators, etc.
  • Foundational knowledge of analog and digital logic and timing considerations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with a temporally and geographically diverse team.
  • Ability to detail and report on technical solutions/findings.
  • Familiarity with production-related processes and common failure modes.
  • Proven ability to work with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and troubleshoot production-related issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Physics, or Physics.
  • NSA Certified TEMPEST Professional Level I (CTP-I).
  • US Government position. US citizenship required.
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain when administratively feasible.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of time if required.
