We are seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer for our Washington DC office, located in Arlington, VA, who will also support the function enterprise-wide. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Preparing calculations for feeders, services, short circuit, and transformer size.
  • Designing building electrical distribution, fire alarm, and security systems.
  • Performing on-site surveys of existing electrical equipment.
  • Determining schedules and details required for the project.
  • Reviewing with project engineers and attending job meetings as required.
  • Ensuring the flow of information between disciplines.
  • Assisting in writing reports and feasibility studies.
  • Supporting the development of electrical standards.
  • Preparing cost estimates and specifications.

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in designing electrical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, lighting systems, and lighting controls. Knowledge of short circuit, arc flash coordination, design of interior and exterior lighting, and photometric calculations is essential. A background in commercial and healthcare facilities is strongly preferred. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required, and PE and EIT certification, as well as LEED accreditation, are preferred. Proficiency with Revit design software and Microsoft Office is also required.
