Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Tuknik Government Services. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems for our clients. This is a direct, full-time position with our company, requiring an Interim Secret clearance or higher.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including lighting, power, life safety, security, and communication systems.
  • Prepare electrical drawings and specifications for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Perform engineering calculations, including short circuit fault current, voltage drop, demand load, lightning protection, and energy density calculations.
  • Review and analyze electrical system designs, including short circuit and protective relay coordination studies, and sequence of operations for power distribution systems.
  • Collaborate with customers and project teams to ensure electrical system designs meet project requirements and specifications.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
  • Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience analyzing performance requirements and designing systems handling very large volumes of real-time data at extremely low latencies.
  • Knowledgeable in the design of electrical systems, including lightning protection, power, life safety, security, and communication systems.
  • Ability to create accurate electrical construction documents from vendor equipment drawings.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE).
  • Ten (10) or more years' relevant experience.
Working Environment

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position, with a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations, and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
