Role Summary: The Staff Scientist will operate under minimal supervision, executing responsibilities as designated by their supervisor. This position is designed for professional development, allowing the Staff Scientist to assist in laboratory operations and experiments while also engaging in their own research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit knowledge and a willingness to learn to propel projects forward.
- Formulate hypotheses, design experimental protocols, analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and refine experimental procedures.
- Evaluate and interpret data from various sources to derive pertinent conclusions.
- Present findings at both internal and external scientific meetings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of experimental processes.
- Contribute to the drafting of reports and manuscripts, gradually increasing responsibility over time.
- Collaborate effectively across laboratory functions and mentor junior lab personnel as required.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in a biological science or related discipline, along with three years of postdoctoral experience or a comparable combination of education and experience.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven ability to conduct and publish research projects.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional skills in data presentation, verbal communication, and written communication.
- Attention to detail, analytical skills, time management, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Supervisory Role: This position includes supervisory responsibilities, overseeing student researchers.
Compensation: The anticipated salary for this role is $90,000.
