Position Overview:

The Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operational functions of the library system. This role involves maintaining essential records related to personnel, finances, and library operations. The Business Manager will perform a variety of administrative, personnel, office, and bookkeeping tasks, while also developing, revising, and implementing accounting systems and procedures to ensure comprehensive and accurate financial management of the Libraries' transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Human Resources functions, including recruitment and employee relations.
  • Oversee financial management and budgeting processes.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Utilize financial software and tools to conduct analyses and maintain records.
  • Supervise and guide the work of administrative staff.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong financial administration skills, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Proficient in modern office procedures and business English.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective accounting systems.
  • Competence in using personal computers for financial inquiries and record maintenance.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet software (Excel) and word processing (Word); familiarity with G Suite is advantageous.
  • Experience with financial software is preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to learn about GASB regulations.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.

Experience: A minimum of four years of recent experience in accounts payable/receivable, with proficiency in accounting software and Excel.

A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is an hourly position with a starting wage range of $18-$24 per hour, negotiable based on qualifications. Benefits include generous paid vacation, sick leave, optional medical and dental insurance, and participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Georgia.
