Job Title: High School Athletic Trainer

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified athletic trainer to join our team at Liberty High School in Peoria, AZ. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing emergency care, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured high school athletes in compliance with National Athletic Trainers' Association guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer a program to provide for emergency care, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured high school athletes
  • Prevent athletic injuries and/or illnesses through education and awareness
  • Evaluate and recognize athletic injuries or illnesses, and provide first aid and emergency care
  • Assist the head coach in developing an emergency medical plan for each sport
  • Maintain records on athletic injuries, physician referrals, and treatments administered
  • Assist and advise the Physical Education/Health and coaching staff regarding injury prevention, conditioning programs, and the selection, care and fitting of protective equipment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or one two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid teaching certificate or substitute teaching certificate
  • Valid Athletic Trainer Certificate as issued by the Board of Certification and licensed by the Arizona Board of Athletic Training
  • Ability to obtain malpractice insurance
Working Conditions:
  • May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds
  • May be required to lift students weighing up to 60 pounds
  • May be required to work outside normal working hours
  • May be required to travel to perform work functions
