Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Athletic Trainer to join our team at Peoria Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical care and support to student-athletes, as well as promoting a culture of health and wellness throughout the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care and support to student-athletes, including injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention and wellness programs for student-athletes.
  • Collaborate with coaches, teachers, and other school staff to promote a culture of health and wellness.
  • Conduct physical examinations and provide medical clearance for student-athletes to participate in sports.
  • Maintain accurate records of student-athlete injuries and treatment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in sports medicine and injury prevention.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or a related field.
  • Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with student-athletes and promoting a culture of health and wellness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

The Athletic Trainer will work in a fast-paced environment, providing medical care and support to student-athletes during practices and competitions. The successful candidate will be required to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends.
