POSITION OVERVIEW

+ Reports directly to the Program Director, overseeing the strategic planning and implementation of various projects.

+ Collaborates closely with clients to ascertain needs and formulate effective solutions.

+ Accountable for developing a comprehensive project plan that encompasses the total costs and establishes a timeline to optimize the utilization of external resources, internal workforce, and contracted services.

+ Engages with end users and stakeholders to resolve local resource limitations, environmental challenges, and political issues.

+ Fully accountable for all facets of each project, which include but are not limited to: system architecture design, equipment inventory, procurement processes, material preparation including system assembly, packaging for transport, coordination for delivery, storage management, and installation resource procurement, including materials and labor.

+ Project management may involve the installation of various systems such as Automatic Identification System (AIS) receivers, radars, Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) receivers, security and surveillance cameras, VHF/HF communication sets, microwave and satellite communication systems, and domain awareness systems, including workstations and servers.

+ Installation tasks may require working on elevated structures and utilizing heavy machinery for site preparation.

+ Directs project managers, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure successful project completion.

+ Due to extensive system knowledge, may serve as a trainer for sensor system installations and maintenance.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

+ A degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field is required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

+ A minimum of five years of experience managing complex technical projects is essential.

+ At least three years of experience managing projects related to sensor system installations in remote locations with limited infrastructure, unreliable power sources, and extreme environmental conditions is required.

+ Experience must include the installation of the aforementioned sensor types, tower climbing expertise, certification as a competent climber, basic electrical knowledge, and experience in powering complex equipment from various generator systems, as well as working with overseas 240v power systems.

+ Proven experience in conducting site preparations for sensor installations is necessary.

+ Demonstrated project management skills that reflect the ability to monitor and control budgets while adhering to tight schedules in challenging environments are required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

+ A valid US driver's license and passport with the ability to travel domestically and internationally as required for program operations.

+ Capability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance; US citizenship is necessary for clearance eligibility.
