Key Duties:
- Provide care in both clinic and hospital settings supported by MNGI.
- Conduct initial and follow-up consultations with patients in both inpatient and outpatient environments in collaboration with a gastroenterologist.
- Gather patient medical history, perform physical examinations, and provide education to patients as appropriate.
- Accurately document patient interactions in a timely manner to ensure continuity of care and proper billing.
- Submit thorough and compliant coding and billing for services rendered.
- Initiate and oversee treatment plans for both preventive and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
- Authorize medication prescriptions and manage prescription refill requests within 24 hours.
- Review and approve laboratory results within a 72-hour timeframe.
- Utilize formularies and guidelines to assist patients in managing healthcare costs.
- Demonstrate proficient use of electronic health records.
- Apply MNGI disease management protocols and guidelines in clinical decision-making.
- Adhere to MNGI Provider Education requirements during onboarding and annually thereafter.
- Coordinate inpatient video capsule procedures and other hospital-based interventions as per established guidelines.
- Participate in occasional weekend hospital coverage as assigned or arrange for coverage.
- Engage professionally, promptly, and compassionately with MNGI staff, physicians, and external stakeholders.
- Complete additional duties as assigned to fulfill organizational needs.

Education and Experience: Candidates must possess one of the following degrees:
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
- Master's degree in Nursing, with a focus on Nurse Practitioner.
Maintaining a BLS certification is essential.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to walk, sit, reach overhead, bend, and stand for extended periods. Regular communication is necessary, and the employee must possess dexterity to operate a computer and other clinical equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may need to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds. Travel to various company locations may be necessary for staffing and training purposes.

In this role, the employee will work in a clinical environment and may encounter hazardous materials or conditions, including exposure to blood or other bodily fluids. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and training will be provided. Daily exposure to computer monitors is expected, and the employee may need to travel by vehicle, facing varying weather conditions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee must remain vigilant to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
