Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing administrative support at the front desk within a healthcare facility, such as a Hospital, Ambulatory Care Center, or Surgery Center.

This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and organized scheduling of patient appointments, managing patient insurance details, entering client data into the system, and delivering precise financial information to clients.

The Coordinator contributes to the organization's objectives by delivering exceptional customer service, engaging in performance enhancement initiatives, and demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 1-3 years of office experience is required, ideally within a medical environment. At least 1 year of experience with insurance, CPT4, and ICD-10 coding is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous. Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred at the time of hire; individuals in this role will receive appropriate training and must demonstrate required skills within 30-60 days of employment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

There is a potential for exposure to the hazards and risks associated with the healthcare environment, including infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and potential injuries.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to the Department Director, Manager, or Nursing Leadership in various departments within the organization.
