Midwife and Women's Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Midwife and Women's Health Specialist to join our OB/GYN department at MedCura Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide full-scope midwifery care to our patients, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, as well as contraception and GYN care across the lifespan.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform gynecological exams and provide education on health, nutrition, and family planning.
  • Take patient vital signs and perform tests to obtain information about patients' medical conditions.
  • Counsel expectant mothers on birthing plans, including hospital care, birthing centers, and other options.
  • Provide emotional care for mothers during birth and assist surgeons and physicians in caring for the mother during complicated births.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and heart rate during birth and communicate stages of birth to family members.
  • Explain and demonstrate breastfeeding techniques and monitor patient postpartum and be available for questions or concerns.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing and Midwifery and certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
  • Registered as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the state of Georgia.
  • Current Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • Current Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required for privileges at Grady Hospital.
