As a Registered Nurse Circulator with Surgery Partners, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety in the operating room. This position requires a skilled and compassionate nurse who can provide direct care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, while also supervising and guiding other members of the operating room staff.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and provide professional perioperative nursing care for assigned patients
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Supervise and guide other operating room staff members
- Make decisions affecting the operating of the surgical suite, as authorized
- Serve as a subject matter expert for at least two surgical services
- Float to other patient care areas, including Pre-op, PACU, and Central Sterile Department, to enhance organizational efficiency
- Current licensure in the State of Texas
- Certification as a perioperative nurse (CNOR) preferred
- BLS certification, renewed every 2 years
- ACLS and PALS certification, required within 6 months of employment
- Previous experience as a perioperative nurse, preferred
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to blood and other body fluids. Personal protective equipment is provided and must be worn. The Registered Nurse Circulator may be expected to lift up to 50 pounds, push or pull 500 pounds with assistance, and work irregular or extended hours due to the requirements of the daily surgical schedule.
