Overview:
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for executing a diverse range of standard and advanced imaging techniques. This role involves collaborating with fellow imaging professionals as necessary and may require working across multiple facilities.

The technologist should possess the ability to perform basic troubleshooting, engage in quality assurance activities, and address challenges related to image processing and archiving systems.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Alice has been dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of the Alice community and its surroundings since its establishment.

As a Level IV Trauma Center, the hospital is equipped with 186 licensed beds and provides extensive medical and surgical services, including pediatrics, obstetrics, skilled nursing, emergency care, and intensive care, along with cardiac and comprehensive services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill the expectations outlined in the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Conduct a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including more complex tasks, while employing appropriate techniques and providing clear procedural instructions to patients.
  • Assess patients for clinical contrast history and identify any potential contraindications.
  • Adhere to established protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Engage effectively with patients and all healthcare providers by coordinating and prioritizing imaging procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and continuity.
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to rotate among various departments and clinics to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Assist Radiologists or other medical professionals during invasive and fluoroscopic procedures by utilizing equipment to accurately locate anatomical structures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in exam rooms, ensuring they are adequately stocked prior to procedures and comply with Infection Control standards.
  • Ensure accurate coding and entry of all charges.
  • Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and developmental needs of each patient.
  • Conduct all duties in a manner that safeguards patient confidentiality and refrains from disclosing any confidential information unless necessary for job performance.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
A. Education/Skills: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized qualification required.
B. Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a hospital setting preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Current registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required; current state licensure required; current BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
