Tree Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tree Care Specialist to join our team at Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC - 023. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for providing exceptional tree care services to our clients, ensuring the health and safety of our employees, and contributing to the success of our company.
Key Responsibilities- Trim and remove trees, branches, and trunk sections to maintain tree health and safety.
- Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Cut and split large debris into manageable pieces for efficient removal.
- Apply herbicides to prevent further growth and maintain a safe working environment.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of equipment and materials.
- Feed brush and debris into wood chippers, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Repair minor damage to lawns, fences, and walkways, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Service and maintain gasoline, air, and hand-powered tools and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Relay hand signals, direct traffic, drive, and operate trucks and equipment as assigned, prioritizing employee and public safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company standards and regulations.
- Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area, reporting any incidents or concerns to management.
- Collaborate with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
- Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, and markers to protect employees and the public, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Participate in training new employees, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure a smooth transition.
- Assume responsibility for the inspection and proper working condition of tools, trucks, and other work equipment, requesting repair or replacement as needed.
- Maintain good housekeeping on trucks and at work locations, adhering to company standards and regulations.
- Perform other related work as assigned by superiors, contributing to the success of the company.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- No fear of heights.
- Excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
- Able to walk, climb, and work from ladders, various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, performing mentally and physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions while handling equipment or material.
- Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
- Must be willing to join the local union and pay union dues.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Entry-level position, no experience required.
- Previous experience a plus.
- Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
- Driver's license required.
- Must have own transportation to and from the work location.

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
