Job Summary

The Assistant Dean for Information Technology is a key leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the School of Medicine's IT division. This role will lead the development and implementation of IT solutions to support the school's instructional and research missions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement IT strategic plans to align with the school's mission and goals
  • Provide leadership and direction to the IT team, including recruitment, retention, and professional development
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to identify and prioritize IT projects and initiatives
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, and standards
  • Ensure the effective use of IT resources and budget
Requirements
  • Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field
  • 10-15 years of experience in IT industry, with a focus on higher education and research
  • Proven track record of leading and facilitating change
  • Experience working in a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment
  • Expertise in budget planning, financial management, and resource management
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD degree in computer science, information systems, or related field
  • Significant experience in a senior IT leadership position within a complex academic medical center
  • 15+ years of experience in IT industry
  • Extensive knowledge of current and emerging information technologies in an AMC environment
