Avionics Crew Chief Job Description

At StandardAero, we're committed to excellence in aviation maintenance. As an Avionics Crew Chief, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our avionics and electrical systems maintenance and installation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership: Supervise a crew of leads and technicians, ensuring they're held accountable for the quality of their work.
  • Avionics Expertise: Use deductive reasoning to resolve technical issues and provide guidance to technicians on aircraft maintenance and installation configurations.
  • Project Management: Coordinate multiple activities to achieve quality maintenance within established time frames, working closely with the Department Manager to pre-plan work scopes and deploy resources.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with customers, CPMs, and other departments to ensure a positive experience at our facility.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor hours charged to jobs, verify accuracy of time cards, and ensure aircraft cleanliness and readiness for departure.
  • Training and Development: Ensure crew members are well-trained on assigned aircraft and systems, and work cooperatively with other Crew Chiefs or shops to promote cross-training.
  • Safety and Compliance: Support and adhere to safety, environmental, and general housekeeping policies, promoting safe work habits and addressing hazards.
Requirements:
  • Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as an Avionics Technician in corporate aviation, with 2 years of experience in Avionics Modifications.
  • Leadership: Prior supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership skills that promote teamwork and collaboration.
  • Technical Ability: Demonstrated exemplary technical ability in specialty area, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical avionics problems.
