Position Summary: We are seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant (MOHs) for our Chesterfield and Glen Carbon locations. The Medical Assistant will perform a variety of medical, clinical, and administrative tasks in a healthcare environment. We welcome candidates with no prior experience but who possess a keen interest in healthcare, teamwork experience, and attention to detail, along with a flexible schedule.
Work Schedule: Full-time, 30+ hours per week, with availability required Monday through Friday during operational hours of 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Flexibility to support team needs is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a professional and inviting atmosphere that enhances patient care and service quality.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all standard operating procedures and policies relevant to the clinical department.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of clinical treatments to effectively address patient needs, including proficiency in pre-care and post-care instructions.
- Conduct equipment checks at the start of each shift and ensure treatment rooms are properly maintained.
- Manage inventory and supply stocking as needed.
- Complete all required training and continuing education within designated timeframes.
- Assist physicians during Mohs surgery, medical, cosmetic, allergy, and laser procedures, preparing and cleaning surgical/exam rooms as necessary.
- Accurately document prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, and other necessary procedures in accordance with established guidelines.
- Handle patient payments, schedule follow-up appointments, and track inventory used during visits.
- Learn and adhere to new workflows, including patient notifications and messaging.
- Maintain cleanliness in the office and manage waste disposal.
- Support front desk operations or greeting duties as required.
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an outpatient surgical clinical setting is highly preferred.
- Medical Assistant Certification is strongly encouraged.
- Familiarity with EMR software and patient scheduling systems is preferred.
- Computer proficiency, particularly with Outlook, is essential.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
- Excellent patient relations and customer service abilities are crucial.
- Demonstrated follow-up skills and accountability are necessary.
- Professionalism, reliability, and dedication are expected from all employees.
- Availability to work during scheduled hours is required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance is essential.
