Key Responsibilities
The Recreation/Recreational Therapist will engage in professional activities related to the assessment, planning, and execution of Therapeutic Recreation programs aimed at enhancing, preserving, or restoring functional abilities. This role is crucial in helping patients achieve their highest potential in leisure education, adaptive recreation, and recreational pursuits.

The therapist will:

  • Conduct assessments and create individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement a comprehensive recreational therapy care plan.
  • Evaluate patients' previous leisure lifestyles and establish therapeutic goals that promote optimal functioning through recreation and leisure activities.
  • Design and facilitate diversionary activity programs as necessary to support patient engagement.
  • Encourage social integration for patients during their rehabilitation process.

Onboarding Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete a background check and a pre-employment health screening, which includes a drug test.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as a Recreation Therapist.
  • Certification: Must be eligible for certification by the Consortium for Therapeutic Recreation/Activity Certification (CTRS) or the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC), or possess a Master's Degree in a related field (e.g., Music Therapy, Art Therapy).
