We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Assistant I for our Trauma & Acute Care Surgery Unit. This position entails working 36 hours per week with 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. Our comprehensive benefits package includes accrued PTO hours based on hours worked.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers during routine examinations and procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
- In psychiatric settings, support patients with reality orientation, participate in behavior modification plans, and provide informal therapeutic support.
- Observe and document patient information while promptly reporting significant changes to a registered nurse or physician.
- Assist patients and families during admissions, orientations, and discharges.
- Deliver care as outlined in the care plan, including vital signs measurement, specimen collection, and simple wound care.
- Provide personal care for daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, including changing linens and restocking supplies.
- Reinforce patient education provided by registered nurses or physicians and document patient understanding.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Licensure/Certification: Must be listed as Nursing Assistant I with the appropriate health department and possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: Preferably six months of nursing assistant experience.
- Skills: Proficient in verbal and written English, with basic computer skills.
