About the Role

We're seeking a passionate and experienced educator to join our team as a Middle School Teacher. In this role, you'll be responsible for teaching English Language Arts to students in grades 6-8. You'll create engaging lesson plans, develop curriculum, and assess student progress to ensure they meet their academic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Teach English Language Arts to students in grades 6-8
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and curriculum
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Partner with colleagues to develop academic goals and practice instructional strategies
  • Participate in weekly school-wide meetings to cultivate community and model core values
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Academic expertise in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields
  • Commitment to the mission of Uncommon Schools and investment in our vision for being an anti-racist organization
  • Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities
