We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician to join our Geriatrics and Extended Care team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Geriatrics and Extended Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our veteran patients, focusing on their unique needs and circumstances.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex medical needs.
- Assess and manage patients' medical conditions, including chronic diseases and acute illnesses.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet patients' unique needs and goals.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and well-being.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of a residency program in internal medicine or a related field.
- Board certification in internal medicine or a related field.
- Current licensure to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Experience working with geriatric patients and their families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This position is located in a hospital setting and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
