The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Defense Stockpile Management Systems (DSMS) support team is seeking a Senior Advisor System Administrator to enhance their operations.


DTRA is tasked with overseeing the national nuclear weapons stockpile database, utilizing the Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services (DIAMONDS) application.


Key Responsibilities:


As a Systems Administrator, you will:

  • Deliver comprehensive enterprise system administration for all processes including installation, configuration, operation, tuning, and lifecycle management of the DSMS Enterprise architecture.
  • Oversee the performance and efficiency of multiple computers operating on various systems.
  • Collaborate closely with government personnel, user site representatives, and software/hardware vendors to ensure continuous connectivity to the DSMS Enterprise Systems.
  • Assess existing hardware systems to pinpoint deficiencies and propose enhancements.
  • Deploy and validate all infrastructure hardware and enterprise software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure hardware, virtual networks, domains, and client services.
  • Manage enterprise backup/recovery and Continuity of Operations (COOP) protocols.
  • Review, test, deploy, maintain, and upgrade Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems and databases.
  • Conduct research, create, and present Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) for all enterprise applications with recommended Courses of Action (COA).
  • Regularly review and update the Approved Software List (ASL).
  • Continuously assess, remediate, and report on vulnerabilities through the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
  • Draft and update Plans of Action and Mitigation (POA&M) for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare Data Risk Acceptance (DRA) documentation and present it to the program Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Advise Cybersecurity professionals on technical matters related to enterprise infrastructure.
  • Configure Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG), manage and report on their status.
  • Lead team projects and coordinate with all program aspects.
  • Plan and execute system security initiatives, ensuring team engagement.
  • Oversee a hybrid team of on-site and remote personnel.

Qualifications:
Education:
Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, and 8+ years of experience

Required Certifications:
DOD 8570 IAT Level II (CCNA-Security, Security + CE, or CND)

Experience:

8+ years of relevant Systems Administration experience with the capability to manage a hybrid team of on-site and remote personnel.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Windows Server (2019, 2016, 2012), Cisco switching, VMware, PKI, RSA SecureID multi-factor authentication, JIRA, SolarWinds, Storage, Patch Management, STIGS, NIST Publications.

In-depth knowledge of VMware technologies and services, networking technologies and protocols, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and RSA SecurID multifactor authentication.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong leadership and team management skills, adept time management, and organizational abilities to meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:
Nuclear Accountability or reporting experience

Work Location:

Some travel (10% or less) and telework options available based on system and mission requirements.

Fully adjudicated Secret to start with TS SCI eligibility
