About the Role:
The Senior Director, Operations will lead the day-to-day management and execution of market goals, working closely with the Executive Director on strategic planning and setting market goals. Responsibilities include managing clinical, TCOC, OPEX, and service performance goals at the market and partner level for a defined set of contracts. Additionally, the Senior Director will engage with functional partners and executives across the organization in operational, clinical, and strategic growth/business development areas.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own execution and achievement of operational results and share accountability for market operations strategy.
• Lead run rate market operations initiatives for critical functions such as staffing, hiring, care team productivity, and strategic partnerships.
• Develop a deep understanding of contractual obligations and regulatory standards.
• Communicate risks, opportunities, successes, and failures with internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of Joint Operating Committee and similar meetings with payer partners.
• Build long-term strategic partnerships with payers, providers, and community-based organizations.
• Humanize member experience by establishing and improving member experience processes.
• Proactively address operational issues and collaborate with the in-market team to solve problems.
• Capture learnings from process builds to support care model development.
• Support direct reports in maintaining efficient operations.
• Manage incoming ad hoc requests and projects to support the Executive Director.
• Provide critical input into data/analytics, staffing/HR, and other operational/administrative activities to optimize market performance.
Leadership & Culture:
• Develop strategic initiatives to improve quality, member outcomes, and total cost of care performance.
• Attract and retain top talent to strengthen company culture and business impact.
• Empower, motivate, recognize, and inspire team members to take action and own their impact.
• Determine appropriate communication methods for internal and external events.
Business Unit, Growth & Development:
• Support building local market relationships.
• Identify opportunities for new strategic collaborations within the markets.
• Lead market expansions and local launches under the supervision of the Executive Director.
Requirements for the Role:
• Minimum of MBA/MHP/MHA; Proficiency as a P&L or operations leader in healthcare delivery or health plan setting.
• Familiarity with capitated or risk-based medical groups serving Medicaid, Medicare, and/or dual eligible patients.
• Hands-on operations leadership experience, building and improving teams, stakeholder relationships, and field-based operations.
• Experience managing a large workforce with varying roles.
• Experience in managing quantitative and qualitative market performance.
• Operationally oriented with a focus on performance excellence and innovation.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, project/process management, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional competence, leadership capability, and commitment to Cityblock's mission.
• Travel 40% within the North Carolina Market.
