Job Description

As a Logistics Specialist, your main duty will be to accurately fulfill customer orders and ensure their delivery to the designated staging area, adhering to company standards for safety, security, and efficiency. Our logistics specialists are essential personnel in a dynamic construction warehouse environment, working with various building materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the manual loading and unloading of freight using forklifts, alongside general labor and warehouse upkeep.
  • Facilitate the movement of materials from receiving zones to assigned carts and staging locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse, including sweeping floors and ensuring overall hygiene of the workspace.
  • Sort and organize materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined criteria such as size, type, or product code.
  • Help maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Support the delivery of materials to various job sites.
  • Receive training on heavy equipment operation, such as forklifts, in preparation for potential certification for advanced roles.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by the production team.

Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Experience working with construction materials and tools for a minimum of one year.
  • Familiarity with the application and use of power tools for at least one year.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance as mandated by law.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

The physical requirements for this position include frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees will often stand, walk, and use their hands. Vision requirements include both close and distance vision, and effective communication skills are essential.
