Job Overview - Production Plant Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Enhance Safety:

Actively prioritize safety for yourself and your team to ensure all assigned facilities achieve zero accidents and adhere to all Vulcan policies and procedures.


Coordinate Production Activities:

Strategically plan daily operations to optimize the use of plant resources, personnel, and inventory, focusing on processes such as mining, processing, stockpiling, and shipping.


Oversee Employee Relations:
Provide effective leadership, training, and team-building to all personnel at the facility.

Collaborate with HR to recruit new talent, manage performance evaluations, and implement disciplinary actions as necessary.


Evaluate Processes and Materials:
Assess production and quality control measures to guarantee that our customers receive top-quality products. Establish and oversee a preventive maintenance program to minimize disruptions and downtime.
Ensure Compliance:

Cultivate a robust safety culture to maintain compliance with Vulcan's operational and environmental standards.


Conduct Equipment Inspections and Repairs:

Assist in organizing daily inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure safe and reliable operations.


Additional Duties:
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills:
  • Experience: Previous supervisory experience in production, ideally within an aggregate, sand/gravel, or asphalt facility.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong abilities in leadership and mentorship to inspire and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Operational Knowledge: Familiarity with rock and sand mining, ready-mix concrete, and/or asphalt operations and machinery.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent motivator and team builder with strong communication capabilities.
  • Financial Acumen: Proven experience in managing financial performance against set targets.
  • Working Conditions: Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
