Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at UNC Health Appalachian. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing patient care services, working collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care services that adhere to federal, state, and local regulatory compliance, working within your scope of practice and license.
  • Implement health care plans developed by the RN or physician, as authorized by State law.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers, demonstrating exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in structured classes and training sessions, complemented by supervised job shadowing/precepting under the guidance of a licensed registered nurse.
  • Assist coworkers, clients, families, and visitors, ensuring that assistance is in-line with your scope of practice, license, or certification.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Current licensure as an LPN in North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at the time of hire.
  • Previous experience as an LPN and previous healthcare experience in an acute or clinic setting are preferred.
Working Conditions

Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases. Frequently exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment, odorous chemicals and specimens, and unpleasant elements. May be subject to irregular hours, emergencies, and continuous standing and walking for long periods.
