We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for performing complex data entry work, transcribing enforcement-related documents, and preparing error reports.



**Key Responsibilities**




  • Enter data into a computerized information system for the Texas Highway Patrol Division
  • Transcribe documents to acceptable formats for entry into the THP database
  • Prepare error reports and correct data entry errors
  • May advise others on work procedures
  • May verify data entered by others
  • Advise supervisor of equipment and data entry program malfunctions
  • Assist in planning and assigning workloads
  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of procedures
  • May train others


**Requirements**




  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year's experience performing data entry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and data entry software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


**Working Conditions**



This position requires occasional travel for training and presentations. May be required to work hours outside of normal shift due to special assignments/projects.
