K-2 Literacy Intervention Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled K-2 Literacy Intervention Specialist to join our team at Oakland Schools. As a key member of our student support services, you will play a critical role in providing targeted literacy support to students in grades K-2.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement evidence-based literacy interventions to support students who are struggling with reading and writing skills.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and deliver instruction that meets the diverse needs of students.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, using a variety of instructional strategies and materials.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
- Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure that students receive consistent support and guidance.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in literacy instruction and assessment.
- Experience working with students who are struggling with reading and writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
