We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist 2 to join our team at Marion County Health & Human Services. As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will provide critical support to individuals in crisis, working closely with law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community agencies to ensure seamless care coordination.
Key Responsibilities- Provide crisis counseling and resource/referral information to adults in custody (AIC) in the Marion County Correctional Facility.
- Collaborate with jail staff, probation and parole officers, psychiatric crisis center (PCC), and community mental health providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Conduct triage and functional assessments of mental health, addiction, and violence risk issues, providing provisional multi-axial diagnoses and interventions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, working closely with clients, families, and community agencies to promote victim/community safety and continuity of care.
- Participate in court and team meetings as indicated, providing expert testimony and recommendations as needed.
- Drive a motor vehicle to attend meetings and staff meetings throughout county agencies.
- Provide traditional counseling services, including individual and group therapy, as appropriate.
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, or a behavioral science field.
- One year of postgraduate degree experience in the behavioral health field.
- Licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers, or credentialed/registered through the Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon (MHACBO) as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
- CAMS certification within 6 months of hire.
- LCW, CSWA, or eligible for LCSW.
- Experience working in a correctional facility or with individuals in crisis.
This is a safety-sensitive/special needs position. Final candidates selected for this position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen, including testing for marijuana.
