Role Overview:
The Operations Manager will report directly to the Regional Director of Operations and will hold full accountability for the operational performance of their unit. This role demands a leader who excels in responsibility and accountability, possesses a proven history of cultivating high-performing teams, and fosters a robust culture of security and safety. Key Responsibilities:
  • Establishes staffing schedules, manages labor hours accordingly, collaborates with HR to ensure full staffing, and oversees overtime management.
  • Implements continuous productivity enhancements within the station.
  • Maintains effective relationships with local unions and mitigates employee relations issues.
  • Executes the ACTS-Aviation Security safety program within the station.
  • Identifies and capitalizes on potential revenue opportunities within the existing customer base.
  • Oversees and continuously enhances security protocols.
  • Builds and sustains strong relationships with airline personnel, catering companies, airport staff, and union representatives, while expanding operations through effective sales and relationship management.
  • Collaborates with the Regional HR Manager to recruit, hire, and retain top-tier Security and Cargo Screening Agents.
  • Monitors training programs to ensure all personnel are current with their training requirements.
  • Coordinates annual training initiatives.
  • Reviews and analyzes daily performance reports to address budgetary gaps.
  • Administers disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with all provisions, regulations, and procedures outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Provides coaching, development, and performance evaluations for Security and Cargo Screening Agents.
  • Maintains all security-related documentation as required by airline customers, TSA, and other governmental bodies.
  • Acts as the primary contact for addressing compliance issues raised by customers or TSA, preparing incident reports to ensure effective resolution.
  • Ensures adherence to all governmental, customer, airline, and local requirements.
  • Reports daily, weekly, and monthly activities to relevant management members.
  • Conducts and ensures comprehensive training and orientation for employees.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by senior management.
Salary Range:
  • $72,000 - $77,000
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in a related field.
Experience Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of strong operational management experience, ideally in airport operations, including:

• A minimum of 5 years at the management level or equivalent experience;

• Background in cargo and warehouse operations;

• Experience managing within a unionized environment;

• Operational experience in building or expanding a business or service line. Preferred but not mandatory:

• Federal security experience, such as FAA or TSA;

• Experience in the airline or airport industry;

• Security experience, including law enforcement, military police, or corporate security.
  • Essential Skills:
  • Exceptional leadership and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and general internet navigation.
  • Strong business acumen.
