Position Title: Senior AI/ML Security Research Specialist

Position Summary:

PKH Enterprises is seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Security to join our team. This full-time position involves working closely with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in Northern Virginia, supporting the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).

The SME will spearhead research initiatives focused on both current and emerging trends in AI, shaping policies and establishing best practices for the security and testing of AI applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the AI/ML Security Team, guiding the exploration of innovative AI frameworks and methodologies while conducting thorough research to assess their capabilities and applications.
  • Oversee the documentation process for the entire lifecycle of AI model development, deployment, and operation, identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities at each stage.
  • Develop comprehensive strategies and frameworks to secure AI/ML applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and enhance testing protocols specifically designed to evaluate the security posture of AI/ML models and algorithms, including the creation of real-world attack simulations.
  • Provide mentorship and training to penetration testers and security analysts, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively manage risks associated with AI frameworks.

Additional Duties:

  • Conduct ongoing research to remain informed about AI advancements and their implications for security, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of technological developments.
  • Design mock AI systems for effective testing and evaluation, ensuring the reliability and integrity of AI applications.
  • Investigate security components involved in AI application development to uphold data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to create and regularly update best practice guidelines for AI security and application testing.
  • Facilitate training sessions on AI technologies and their security implications, developing comprehensive training materials and conducting workshops.
  • Implement test cases and conduct evaluations to assess the security of AI systems, ensuring periodic validation of AI models for accuracy and fairness.
  • Update policies in accordance with evolving industry standards for AI implementation and security best practices.
  • Maintain a repository of AI-related academic literature and case studies, providing detailed analyses of technologies that may impact the organization.
  • Develop guidelines for secure data input into AI platforms, coordinating with data science teams to address any anomalies.
  • Prepare regular reports on AI technologies, security protocols, and model integrity assessments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • GISP or SANS Certification.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity and AI/ML system evaluation.
  • Experience in engaging with Senior Government Officials and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with DHS cybersecurity infrastructure and assessment frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in data analytics and presentation development.
