ROLE SUMMARY:

  • The Senior Service Technician will oversee the repair and testing of various equipment, possessing a comprehensive understanding of departmental operations and supporting the Service Supervisor in task allocation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To excel in this role, the individual must effectively carry out the following core functions. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Repair Duties

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the Service department.
  • Achieve proficiency in Acumatica and assist colleagues with related challenges.
  • Conduct mechanical and non-electrical repairs as required.
  • Acquire skills in electronic repairs as necessary.
  • Timely diagnosis and repair of all designated equipment.
  • Analyze repair history to implement corrective measures and minimize failure rates.
  • Support the distribution of equipment among team members as needed.
  • Propose enhancements to testing methodologies.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Complete Work Orders and manage invoicing/credits within Acumatica.
  • Review RMA and related orders for discrepancies, notifying relevant departments for corrective actions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace.
  • Develop and uphold accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned products.
  • Oversee physical inventory of replacement equipment and repair components.
  • Assist with the daily intake of assigned equipment as necessary.
  • Monitor equipment and repair part inventory levels to prevent shortages.
  • Establish an organized inventory stocking system.

Client Interaction

  • Generate Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) and Work Orders as required.
  • Assist with hardware support issues as they arise.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance via phone in collaboration with our Knowledge Center for equipment-related problems.

Vendor Relations

  • Manage parts inventory procurement.
  • Coordinate with vendors for RMA acquisition.
  • Prepare equipment for vendor shipments.
  • Complete testing and work orders for equipment repaired and returned by vendors.
  • Collaborate with vendors to address product failure concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: An associate degree in electronics or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of prior repair experience is essential, with warehouse and assembly experience being advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with SalesForce and Acumatica is desirable, along with the ability to generate reports and track performance metrics.
  • Other Skills: A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrating attention to detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The individual must be able to remain stationary for extended periods and occasionally move within the office environment. Proficiency in operating a computer and other office equipment is required, along with effective communication with customers and colleagues.
  • Regular lifting/moving of up to 20 pounds is expected, with occasional lifting/moving of up to 50 pounds. Close vision is necessary for detailed work.
