Role Overview:

As a Quality Assurance Specialist at Ditch Witch, you will play a crucial role in managing the quality system for our products. You will collaborate with colleagues on quality initiatives, training, and product evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret data from various sources, including manuals, drawings, and engineering specifications.
  • Document and investigate complaints from different departments within the organization.
  • Review machine prints, welding prints, and schematics to address quality-related issues.
  • Initiate corrective and preventative actions as necessary.
  • Conduct inspections of equipment, purchased components, and returned defective parts.
  • Facilitate the resolution of out-of-specification materials by liaising with relevant departments.
  • Assist in verifying new and existing products, which may involve supplier and dealership visits.
  • Coordinate problem-solving efforts to identify and eliminate root causes of non-conformances.
  • Develop and deliver training on quality matters in collaboration with various teams.
  • Research, draft, and edit business documents such as change requests and procedures.
  • Organize and maintain electronic files related to product documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills are essential.
  • Proficient in quality standards, concepts, and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of conducting technical research using available resources.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in SAP and MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated writing skills, including research, organization, and editing.
  • A solid work history reflecting self-motivation, productivity, and reliability.
  • ASQ Quality Technician certification or higher is required, or a lesser ASQ certification with a commitment to obtain the ASQ Quality Technician certification within six months.
  • Experience collaborating with external suppliers on processes such as corrective actions and audits is necessary.

Work Environment:

  • Regular use of a personal computer.
  • Office environment with periodic visits to the shop and outdoor work.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing workloads and priorities.
  • Common work weeks may extend up to 50 hours.
  • Occasional travel to suppliers may be required, estimated not to exceed 25%.
