About the Role:

The Residential Counselor II will provide direct care and support to youth in our residential program, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of mental health principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a shift in the absence of the Supervisor, ensuring the smooth operation of the program.
  • Support the implementation of youth treatment plans, promoting their overall well-being.
  • Accurately document all required information, maintaining accurate records.
  • Act as a staff advocate for clients, providing a safe and supportive environment.
  • Respond to emergency situations, providing crisis intervention consistent with training.
  • Recognize and respect the ethnic and cultural diversity of each individual, promoting a trauma-informed approach.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including food shopping, preparation, and appointments.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree or bachelor's degree in a human service field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working in a related field, preferably with youth.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
