Position: Materials Testing Engineer

Location: On-site

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct mechanical assessments adhering to established standards (ASTM & ISO), client specifications, and innovative project-specific requirements.
  • Utilize and maintain a variety of hydraulic testing apparatus (MTS), DSC, DMA, Rheometer, FTIR, ovens, microscopes, and other laboratory instruments.
  • Interpret data, evaluate findings, and prepare comprehensive testing reports.
  • Assist in the fabrication of composite panels through vacuum infusion, RTM, hand-layup, and other production techniques.
  • Assess, compare, and verify specimen dimensions to ensure compliance with established standards or methodologies.

Continuous Improvement Focus:
Collaborate with laboratory staff to enhance capabilities and optimize testing laboratory processes.

  • Develop and revise operational instructions to reflect current practices.
  • Adhere to and uphold TPI Composites' ISO 17025 Quality Management System.
  • Support inventory management initiatives.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Proficient understanding of composite manufacturing techniques and the mechanics of composite materials.
  • Strong data analysis and presentation capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering, Composite Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in mechanical testing.
  • Familiarity with the application of strain gauges.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft VBA and experience in creating Excel macros.
